Dua Lipa is a Brit singer/songwriter from London United Kingdom on August 22nd 1995. The singer-songwriter signed to Warner Bros Records in 2014 after working as a model and dropped her debut album, self-titled in the year 2017. The album peaked at third place at the top of the U.K. charts for albums and featured eight singles which included the U.K. top ten hit song New Rules and Be the One I.D.G.A.F. Lipa received the Brit Awards for British female solo artist as well as British breakout act in the year 2018. The album was certified platinum in the world. Dua Lipa was conceived at the age of 18 in London in the UK by Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa rexha (mother) and Dukagjin lilipa (father). By virtue of her maternal grandmother, she is of Bosnian origin. Additionally, you can find her family's roots in Peja, the Kosovo city of Peja. Lipa's grandparents were both historians. Her siblings are Rina and Gjin. The musical influence of Lipa's came from her father who is the lead singer and guitarist of Kosovan the rock group Oda. His father would play music at home, and included songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at the age of five. It was the Sylvia Young Theater School was where she started singing as she was nine years old. Lipa performed If I Ain't Gone You with Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa signed her first record contract in 2014 through Warner Bros. Records. She released her first single New Love in August of 2015.
