Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, a Canadian-American singer and songwriter. There are more than 20 albums. DiFranco categorizes her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. However, it has influences from hip-hop, punk and jazz. Ani Difranco has been widely considered to be a symbol for feminist music. In 1990 she was one of the first to establish her own label independently. DiFranco was a born on 23rd September 1970 in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Dante Americo DiFranco. Both her parents were both of Montreal origin. Ani diFranco wrote and performed the song 32 Flavors. This track is on her sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. This song appears on the film soundtrack for the Canadian romantic drama Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it became known that she was hosting the three-day event at the site of a Louisiana former slave plantation. It was called off However, certain (including the newspaper) didn't see it as a sign of regret. DiFranco issued an additional apology only a few days later.
